Wanindu Hasaranga will not play in IPL 2024. Deba, April 6, 2024 Sunrisers Hyderabad’s Wanindu Hasaranga has been ruled out of the IPL 2024 owing to severe heel pain in his left foot. Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) informed the BCCI of his unavailability for the season. Hasaranga was treated by SLC medical professionals, who felt the pain was caused by musculoskeletal wear and tear. Sunrisers head coach Daniel Vettori revealed that Hasaranga had contacted a specialist in Dubai following his withdrawal. Sunrisers bought Hasaranga for INR 1.5 crore at the 2024 IPL auction in December of last year. He will be an important player for Sri Lanka in the T20 World Cup if he heals in time.
