New 268.3 bhp turbo-petrol engine for the Jeep Compass Deba, April 16, 2024 A 2.0-liter turbo-petrol engine with 268.3 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque has been added by Jeep to the Compass vehicle. In India, this engine is also found in the Jeep Commander, also referred to as the Meridian SUV, and the Jeep Wrangler and Grand Cherokee SUVs. The engine comes with a 9-speed torque converter automatic gearbox and is part of FCA’s Global Medium Engine family. By 2025, Jeep intends to bring the Compass in India with a smaller 1.3-liter turbo-petrol engine that should produce about 183 horsepower.
