Under the BCCI’s new incentive programme, India’s Test players may earn a lot of money. Deba, March 9, 2024 A player’s match fee will rise by 300% under the BCCI’s “Test Cricket Incentive Scheme” if they appear in more than 75 percent of the Test matches played in a given season. The recommendation came from Ajit Agarkar’s selection panel, which wanted to motivate players to focus on playing first-class cricket. In addition to his match fee of INR 15 lakh every Test, players like Cheteshwar Pujara can now earn INR 45 lakh per Test thanks to a scheme that has been retroactively extended until the 2022–2023 season. The annual retainers of BCCI are unrelated to the incentive.
