Deba, December 25, 2023 Australia captain Pat Cummins says there is no distinction between Usman Khawaja wearing a dove design on his shoe and bat to raise humanitarian awareness and colleague Marnus Labuschagne wearing an eagle on his bat, which represents a personal religious statement. Despite approval from Cricket Australia and the Australian Cricketers Association, the ICC declined Khawaja’s bid to show the logo during the Boxing Day Test. Labuschagne’s bat bears an eagle motif, which signifies a Bible verse and has long been permitted under ICC rules.
