BCCI digital and TV media rights are purchased by Viacom18 for $720 million. Deba, September 4, 2023 The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Secretary, Jay Shah, declared that Viacom18 has obtained the BCCI media rights for both linear and digital platforms for the ensuing five years. The relationship between the BCCI and Disney Star, which had the rights retained in 2018 under a contract of INR 6,138 crore, has come to an end. Viacom18 will broadcast 88 cricket matches during the contract’s duration, which is until March 2028. The deal, which will be in effect until March 2028, would pay INR 67.8 crore for each game. A three-match One Day International series against the Australia Cricket Team marked the start of the season in late September.
