Bismah Maroof retires from international cricket Deba, April 25, 2024 Former Pakistani captain Bismah Maroof has declared her retirement from playing cricket internationally. Maroof, a well-known player in women’s cricket, has led Pakistan in runs scored in both the Twenty20 and ODI competitions. She amassed a score of 2893 in 140 T20Is and 3369 in 136 ODIs. In 96 games as a captain of Pakistan, Maroof was surpassed in T20Is by Sana Mir. She thanked her teammates, the Pakistan Cricket Board, and her family for their encouragement during her career. Maroof started playing cricket at the age of 15, and she became a regular rather quickly. In 2016 and 2017, she was named Pakistan’s T20I and ODI captain, respectively.
